Web DesignAlgoma Council on Domestic Violence
The Algoma Council on Domestic Violence wanted their site to be a resource for individuals and families experiencing domestic violence.
Domestic Violence Assistance Website
The council wanted to shift the focus to providing help and resources for those experiencing domestic violence.
- A blog format was used as an easy way to organize information for two audiences:“I need help” provides articles that educate victims in understanding the types of abuse and how to find help.
“I want to help” has resources to educate how to help and approach a potentially abused loved one.
- The site features quick links to leave the page if a visitor is in danger and instructions to delete their browsing history.
- Emphasis was given to using imagery that created a calming and positive atmosphere. The imagery was designed to not be easily recognizable as a victims assistance website to protect visitors.
